Cathy, thank you for this article. It's very deep. I am preparing to travel and I cannot sequester enough time to read and completely think through it all in one sitting, so I emailed this post to myself to read later. Wishing you well.

Dear Author -- I urge you to put the TRIGGER ALERT in the title and first sentence. Maybe spend some time figuring out how to do that so you don’t traumatize people by issuing the alter itself (admittedly hard). There is an exemplary trigger alert quoted in your piece much further down. The contents here are so broadly available to re-traumatize people from various backgrounds that it’s a serious hazard. This piece aims to do a service, but it’s radioactive. Take care of yourself too.💜

I am not a survivor so I used to put trigger alerts in when i first started 10 years ago. However I did not know really what triggers to alert for. I asked a few people and one said something like "we are told what to do so much, that it is a relief to be able to choose what to do for ourselves." I took that on board and have not included trigger warnings since. Since nearly everything can be a trigger I would always be warning of triggers. Most peopel reading my blogs know that there maybe triggers and survivors will know better than me what are their triggers.

To put a trigger on this particular post would appear to be redundant, as the title gives away that triggers are likely. As for the trigger warning you recommend that Svali wrote, she even writes trigger warnings for Christian information. I could offer a routine trigger warning at the start, in which case that would be taken by social media as the summary, which is nto satisfactory. i decided to not put any, but trust surivors to look out for their own triggers.
