Twitter Thread 3 - Caldey Island Abuse
Survivor Kevin O'Connell launched the Campaign to fill in the Caldey Island monks prayer request form on Sonia Poulton's BNT programme on Good Friday.
It was intended to carry this campaign on by blogging on substack and a thread on twitter. That was the day twitter and substack fell out and twitter withdrew ability to like, retweet or thread tweets with substack links, and meant substack could not embed twitter links. This was something which only became clear after hours of trying to eliminate other possibilities- it was not an envisioned scenario.
Fun and games that were not expected, and could have done without, but largely overcome. We got round this with wordpress blog links which worked ok. Much attention drawn to Caldey Island and the abuses by monks and the Abbots refusal to give an apology and many prayer requests made to the monks to pray for the survivors of Caldey Island abuse and to pray for an apology from the Abbot.
Then on Easter Monday I was going to do a cut and paste of @threadreaderapp thread archive to substack, only to find that twitter has withdrawn @threadreaderapp access, so now onto about Plan F.
@rattibha thread still archives twitter threads for now and although the cut and paste is something to be desired, the pdf embed seems to work ok onto wordpress, as do the links from the thread. I have also included the cut and paste of thread after.
